We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization formed out of the passion and dreams of parents with children on the autism spectrum. The Mission of Kathleen's House Our mission is to empower individuals affected by autism and their families, as well as broaden the understanding and acceptance of autism spectrum disorders throughout the community.
What We Do
We provide opportunities for individuals with autism to participate in activities and endeavors that are not always as available to them as they are to neuro-typical individuals. We also reach out to the families, educators, and service providers looking for information to better their understanding of the complex world of autism. There is an information center with a variety of print and video materials available in our reference and lending library. In addition, we have the first hand experience and knowledge of parents and family members who have insight into what it is like to live with autism 24/7.
Why It Is Important
Families affected by autism often face many difficulties. We hope to provide the support and encouragement these families need. We also hope to increase the understanding and acceptance of autism. With greater understanding will come greater opportunities for a better future.
As parents of those affected by autism, we understand that by doing all that we can right now, we can make a difference.
